Quetta A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan regarding the implementation of development projects included in the federal and provincial budgets of the health department. Ali Baloch, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Zahid Saleem, Information Secretary Sohail-ur-Rehman Baloch and Special Secretary Finance Lal Jan Jaffer among others.The meeting was given a detailed briefing on the development projects included in PSDP 22-2021, including the Code-19 Response Program, strengthening of DHQs, THQs and BHUs in less developed areas.The briefing said that under the Code-19 Response Program, 31 DHQs and 7 THQ level hospitals will be upgraded. 31 state-of-the-art ICUs will be set up under the program with 10 beds in all districts ICU / HDUs will be set up. It was informed in the briefing that under this project blood bank, pathology department, radiology department and ambulances equipped with all facilities will be provided in the overall health delivery system after completion of the program. Improvements The federal government has released funds to implement the program Significant funds have been allocated for strengthening the existing basic health centers in the less developed areas. The briefing said that funds have been set aside for the improvement of all major hospitals in the province. Emergency Response Centers will be set up in the existing rural health centers.Expansion of Children’s Hospital, Feasibility Study of Medical College at Naseerabad and Construction of Nursing Colleges have also been included. Besides, PGMI Block will be constructed at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital. Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan directed that a comprehensive strategy should be adopted for the implementation of the 19 Control Response Program and effective steps should be taken to provide health facilities and strengthen the structure in the less developed areas.
