QUETTA: Parliamentary Secretary for Information Bushra Rind has said that for the development and prosperity of women, it is imperative that they be given opportunities to use their abilities in all walks of life. The government is pursuing an agenda of providing better health education facilities and empowering women economically. To achieve these goals, record legislation has been enacted and a strategy is being formulated to enact more laws. Speaking at an advocacy meeting with Women Lida Lions on the passage of a bill to increase the age of marriage to 18 years, as in Saudi Arabia.
Balochistan Assembly members Zeenat Shahwani and Shahina Kakar were also present on the occasion. Members of the Assembly have already supported civil society for pro-woman legislation. We hope that this cooperation will continue in the future as well.
